Artist Statement
I am a painter working mainly in acrylics, drawing inspiration from the external landscape and environment: physical, relational, and spiritual; from the internal landscape of spirit, heart, and mind; and from the interactions and relationships between them.
I love the natural environment of Aotearoa New Zealand, and have been drawn by it’s rugged beauty and mysterious wonder. Behind and within the landscape, I have always sensed the inviting, benevolent presence of the faithful and good God revealed in Jesus, the creator of all this beauty.
My hope is that people who view my work will connect with something authentic through my perspective. But equally, that their personal memories, feelings and connections with special times, places and experiences will be sparked as well.
