Come Poets, Artists and Creatives of all Kinds… the Times they are A-Changing.

God loves artists and creatives - and the world and the church need them more than ever right now.

To the artists, musicians, dancers, writers, and makers who have been working away — sometimes quietly, sometimes unseen, serving, creating, offering yourself in your work, some at the periphery (or perhaps on the outside) of faith community.

Many of you have poured yourselves into your craft in studios, classrooms, galleries, workplaces, and public spaces where faith is rarely spoken. Some of you have felt disconnected from church family, unsure if you and your gifts fit or are understood and valued. Others have wondered whether the hours of labour, the cost, and the struggle to stay true to your calling really matter in God’s eyes.

They do. And you do.

The Lord has seen your perseverance. He has been with you in every step of faith, each brushstroke, every note, every movement, every word offered from your heart. None of it is wasted. Even when doubted by yourself and unnoticed by people, heaven has borne witness.

This is a time of encouragement and comfort. God is stirring the hearts of His artists and creatives, drawing you close to strengthen you, to love you, and to remind you that you belong. Your gifts are not side issues — they are part of the church’s kingdom witness, her community, worship, and mission. You are needed. The whole is diminished without your part.

For those working mainly in the secular world: your placement and assignment matters. You bring God’s presence into spaces that many cannot reach — galleries, theatres, schools, studios, concert halls, and workplaces. Your creativity is a form of witness when it flows from truth, integrity, and love.

So if you’re feeling weary, jaded or overlooked, hear this: it is time to be refreshed and restored. Let Holy Spirit bring a lift and shift of perspective, lightening your load, inspiring new or reconciled connection and belonging, like a shift in the wind filling the sails of you boat to propel your forward.

You are needed. You belong to the human community and to the people of God. And your art, joined with your faith, has the power to bring healing, fresh perspective, and reconciliation in a world that is crying out for it.
